The Old Hall may just have it all... it is tucked away in a rural location and never ceases to surprise visitors when it reveals that lovely view across the river to the Wrekin. It feels totally secluded here, but most modern ‘must haves’ are within easy striking distance.
The Old Hall is a part timbered 16th century building sitting on what has been a dwelling site for over 1000 years. It truly does have a history of hospitality having had many incarnations most latterly in the 1960s and ’80s as a small hotel renowned for its restaurant and as a wedding venue.
The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens which slope down to the river. In addition there are riverbank and woodland walks. With stunning views, it is ideally located to explore the many attractions that Shropshire has to offer.
Each of our three bedrooms have been individually decorated using Zoffany paints, Zoffany and Jane Churchill fabrics and Lewis and Wood wallpapers, taking inspiration from the views through the windows. Hospitality trays, deep sprung pocket mattresses, crisp Egyptian cotton sheets, large walk-in showers, Molton Brown toiletries…..restful nights. But, it’s not just about the bedrooms-from the moment you enter the oak dominated entrance hall you can feel the warmth of the house. You will be greeted with complimentary tea or coffee and homemade cake or biscuits. Choose to soak up the view from the Adam style drawing room; or venture onto the terrace (if it's chilly we have rugs and throws to hand, and heaters in the portico and gazebo); a hidden spot in the garden; or your bedroom-wherever you prefer. Each morning a sumptuous breakfast is of course included in your stay. For many, The Old Hall is a destination in itself. If you enjoy peace and tranquility; quiet contemplation; watching the natural world around you; reading; writing; painting; fishing, or, just doing nothing-this is the place to be.
